Ed Tech Planning Session

School districts statewide in Oregon are in the process of submitting their Educational Technology Plan to ODE. Creating this plan can be somewhat confusing. Questions continue to arise as to its relationship to the Districts CIP (Continuous Improvement Plan), the New Oregon Diploma (2012 Essential Skills), and the new Oregon Ed. Tech Standards. All of these documents contain a technology piece. And technology plans should address both state and federally funded activities.

More often than not, different groups of people (IT, Curriculum, Other) are responsible for designing and implementing these plans, and often they may not be aware of the common thread that ties them all together.

The following attachments represent materials we (ODE)  are using in our Ed Tech Planning Workshops, and are designed to help Districts answer many of the questions that may arise.

    • Tentative outline for 3-hour work session

    • Relationship between a districts' Ed Tech plan, the Oregon Performance Standards (CIP), the new Oregon Educational Technology Standards, and the new Oregon Diploma.

    • 2009 Critera sheet comments and examples

  • Attachment 6: Tech Plan Cover Sheet Jan09
    • Copy of cover sheet distributed to all Districts in Jan09

  • Attachment 7: Oregon Ed Tech Standards & NETS & Essential_Skills alignment
    • These contain the recently approved Oregon Educational Tech Standards and a chart aligning them with the NETS*S and Essential Skills
